Mellow Not the Guy the Dems Want

Bob Mellow is considering a run for Gubbenor on 2010.

It wouldn't take much digging to scrape the covers off this guy.

Here's what I hear. His PAC has been open for many years. New laws about how money must be spent do not apply to that PAC. According to one lawyer, he can keep whatever money he does not spend on the governor's race. (I don't know for sure if this is true).

Now he knows he has too much baggage to win statewide office. But he can announce, pad his PAC, and then graciously lose and keep the proceeds.
