Ding Dome Gossip

Faithful drinkers of this swill will recall that earlier this year we talked about hearing about talks about settlement talks in the Judicial ethics complaint against Luzerne County's only female jurist, Ann Lokuta.

We had heard from more than one source that Judge Lokuta was offered the option of retiring -- with full benes in place -- and that the Judge was seriously considering the offer. That story was shot down by the Judge's then-new attorneys. Now comes confirmation of the report, of a sort. The pretend newspaper in Scran'en last week "reported" confirmation that a deal was offered to Lokuta late last year, but that the Judge didn't grab it.

Yep, just like a broken clock . . . . .

I find it interesting that Pat Judge was all hot and bothered to stay on the judicial commission and pass judgment on Lokuta. The same Pat Judge who is a co-owner with Judge Conahan of a private ambulance service in Forty Fort.

No connection there, huh?

This is all old news, you know? You should read the TL.

i also find it very INTERESTING about pat judge. he is a conahan crony, who is also involved with denaples, etc.... people should wake up and smell the roses. the person, susan weber, who filed the complaint against judge lokuta, got a new job, better pay, from conahan!! go figure!! NOTHING is a secret now that judge lokuta is taking this to trial. all information is now public!! i do read the TL AND CV, BUT, they never print the names of the attorneys and people who are going against the judge! i dont know why. the latest motion says judge lokuta must recuse herself from the people testifying against her, but who are they????

The list of attorneys/witnesses for both parties has been published on the TL Web site.

well, well, well!!! quite interesting, isnt it!! i mean, the most recent news??? looks like JCB doesnt have much of a paper trail...so sad....well, if the accusations are true, that lokuta made a memo of everything, then im sure SHE will have the paper trial.

ABFS, I'm following this story from a distance. My recollection is that, among other things, she was accused of using staff to clean her home. That seems to be the most serious of the charges. But I don't see that backed up in newspaper accounts of the testimony. They still put on some pretty incredible evidence of erratic behavior and a failure to do her job, although we have yet to her the judge's side.
