The 2006 Koufax Award nominations are now open. I didn't nominate in every category and "cheated" by nominating two in some categories. But here are my contributions, with apologies to those whom I have nominated and (hopeful) assurances that voters don't take into account the relative demerits of the nominator:
Best Blog -- Pro Division: Joe Bageant, Attytood
Best Series: Fact-esque on eVoting
Best Single Issue Blog: Corpreform
Most Humorous Blog: The Liam McEneaney Experience, Bildungblog
Most Deserving of Wider Recognition: Huck and Jim
Best New Blog: Blue Wren, Huck and Jim
Best Coverage of State or Local Issues: Above Average Jane

Taking into account the relative merits of the nominator, which far outstrip the merits of the nominee, I can only say, Awwww THANK you, Slob! I've never been nominated to do anything before except moderate a local political debate, and this promises to be MUCH more fun. I'm all atwitter!
You BASTARD!!!
BW, you are being way too kind. I hope there are many seconds to the nomination.
Will, you're just a contrary old fart and, now, you've been outed. Time to start learing how to deal with fame and fortune.
